SUNDAY SERMON

The sermon for Sunday, May 26, is on Philippians 1:3-11. Read this passage on Saturday, perhaps with your family, to prepare for the preaching of God’s Word.

PRAY

For the month of May 2024 we will be using passages from the book of Ephesians each day to guide our prayers.

Ephesians 1:20

“that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,”

  • Give praise to God that we have a risen Savior!
  • Thank God for Jesus that is seated at God's right hand interceding for his people. Take whatever burdens are on your heart to him today, knowing that he hears your prayers and will answer them according to his will.
  • Thank God that Jesus reigns "in the heavenly places," and that he is coming again to take his people home to be with him.

You can also take some time bring these things before the Lord.

  • Confess your sins.
  • The Lost
  • Your Needs

QUESTIONS FOR FAITH GROUPS

  • Why is Paul thankful for the Philippians?
  • Paul is confident in verse 6. Why is he confident, and how will God accomplish this? What means does he use to persevere us and finish his work in us?
  • Paul prays for love to abound with knowledge and discernment. Discuss the relationship between love and knowledge. How are these related, and what does love without knowledge look like, and knowledge without love?
  • How can we be pure and blameless in the day of Christ? And how does this glorify God?
  • How can we apply these truths this week?
